We departed Australia in late November 2006, returning in January 2007. The trip started with a Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore, where we spent 5 nights.
Then we took a flight to Bangkok Thailand, spending a few days there before traveling up to northeast Thailand. In the northeast we explored Khon Kaen, Udon Thani and Nong Khai before catching a train back to Bangkok.
From Bangkok we flew Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a 5 night stay exploring KL and the nearby Gentings Highland Resort. Then it was a flight back to Bangkok, a train back to Khon Kaen, for more time relaxing in the Northeast.
After New Years we headed up to Vientiane, Laos, for a short visit to old Indochina. A few days later we drove back to Bangkok, hung out in Chinatown for a few days then returned to Australia via Singapore.
