London, Paris, New York, Venice, Hollywood, the Swiss Alps – all in one place?
You’ll find them at First World Plaza, a first-of-its-kind shopping mall that incorporates a theme park. It’s the world under one roof. See New York’s Times Square and the Statue of Liberty; London’s Big Ben; the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Champs Elysees; Universal Walk; a Venetian canal and Genting Walk.
Each of the six theme areas has its own shops, F&B and entertainment outlets that recreate the ambience of these world-famous centres. Interspersed with these is a monorail, a roller coaster, ferris wheel and carousel just in case the kids get bored, or you just need a break from shopping.
Try your hand at a game of snooker or bowling, or match your skills to computer-generated fun at more than 500 video games available in the Plaza’s many arcades. Or just fly – with the Genting Sky Venture, which provides that freefall feeling without actually having to jump out of a plane, through the use of a skydiving simulator.

First World Plaza has more than 70 outlets, including some that carry the world’s biggest brands – Nike, Levi’s and Dockers, to name a few. Branded boutiques and fashion houses cater to every taste, from jeans and leather to the most elegant haute couture pieces fit for the most important occasions. Clothes, jewellery, accessories, special souvenirs and exclusive gifts – First World Plaza has it all.
World-class entertainment takes centre stage at First World’s Pavilion Hall, where music & magic extravaganzas, circus acts, sporting events, dance competitions and Broadway shows play to packed houses. The list of stellar performers that have graced this venue reads like a Who’s Who of the biggest names in the entertainment industry today.
If your tastes lean towards more quiet distractions, there are two cinemas at the Cineplex that carry the latest block busters for your viewing pleasure. Located in the Times Square section of First World Plaza, each hall can seat 166 in literally the highest cinemas in Malaysia.
There’s good dining to be had too. In fact, dining to suit a myriad palates can be found because the restaurants match up to the six theme areas. So you can look forward to a burger by the Statue of Liberty, savour a croissant while you have yourself photographed next to the Eiffel Tower or enjoy a fish & chip lunch as Big Ben chimes. Round it off with an Italian gelato for dessert as you cruise a canal in Venice!

But this is Malaysia after all, so local taste buds will not be deprived. There’s still nasi lemak, wantan mee, char kway teow, roti canai and teh tarik, for those whose holidays will not be complete without these all-time Malaysian favourites. You’ll never be hungry; there’s food every where you turn.
Fast food franchises like Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut offer a tasty snack practically around the clock; seven in-house F&B outlets including the Tropical Café with its eclectic mix of Continental, Fusion and Local food, dish out a variety of flavours, complemented by in-house food court stalls as well as "kopitiam" or food court outlets.
Genting’s five hotels offer accommodation aplenty, so it’s a good idea to stay overnight. As dusk falls, witness the transformation of First World Plaza from frenetic shopping, food and entertainment paradise, to a haven of another sort.
The cool, gentle mountain temperature will be just the right backdrop to a fairyland of sparkling lights and traditional street lamps. With the temperature just about 22oC, you’ll have a hard time believing you’re in the tropics!
