The new Holiday Inn Burswood in Perth, Western Australia was officially launched with a bang on 9 September 2005 and despite the cold wet weather they put on an impressive fireworks display to mark the occasion.
Hotelz Asia’s photographer was the only member of the media pack to sit outside in the cold and capture the show for posterity – the rest of the guests stayed inside the new hotel’s Sirocco Restaurant to enjoy cocktails, live entertainment and speeches at the opening function.
The Holiday Inn is integrated into the existing Burswood Casino complex, which includes a Casino, the more upmarket Inter Continental Hotel and a theatre as well as acres of parklands and facilities. Burswood also boasts a golf course and some excellent riverside paths to explore.
The Holiday Inn with its opening specials of around A$138 a night including breakfast is a lower cost alternative to the existing 413 room Inter Continental Hotel. This is great for visitors looking to stay at Burswood who can now choose the hotel that best meets their budget.
