Berjaya Times Square Complex, Kuala Lumpur
From 2006/07 Travel Blog

You can read a review of the Berjaya Times Square hotel here.
We were staying at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel and decided to explore the massive complex situated below the hotel. This place has everything, and if you aren't staying here, the Imbi monorail station is right outside and links to the complex via a covered walkway. There is also a taxi rank and taxi coupon booth on the ground floor.
First and foremost when you enter the massive doors you have arrived in an enormous shopping mall, maybe 10 stories high and claiming to be the biggest mall in town. Whether this is true or not, there are heaps of shops to explore. Anything and everything from fashion to electronics to specialty stores.
There is a good supermarket on the ground floor, moneychangers, an incredible two storey bookstore as well as places to process your digital photos or buy a new camera.

Food lovers will be happy - fans of western-style food will find endless fast food and coffee places throughout the complex. If you are looking for Malay or Chinese food, there are a number of good restaurants. On the upper floor (I think floor 7 or 8) there is a spacious food center with a variety of vendors selling Malay, Chinese, even Italian food.
Some of the Malay vendors serve up dismal fare....stick with the Chinese food if you wish to avoid bland, cold, overcooked Malay dishes.
If you get tired of shopping there is an enormous amusement center in the complex complete with roller coasters, specialty rides and hordes of happy noisy children. There is also a cinema and plenty of entertainment options for kids.

Shopping mall - Berjaya Times Square
If you are staying at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel (or even just curious) the hotel itself has even more restaurants, a massive business-conference area and convention center. Look further and you will find one of KL's better swimming pools offering great surrounds, three swimming pools and panoramic views across the city.
It would be easy to spend a day exploring the complex and many people do just that. Whilst not a great fan of shopping malls myself, I found it incredibly convenient to be able to shop and then nip upstairs to drop purchases off in our room.
Importantly, on the ground floor of the complex there are two 7-11's located outside the mall, so you can grab an extra bottle of beer day or night without having to venture into the crowded mall itself.
