When visiting KL in Malaysia why not pay a visit to the tallest twin towers in the world !
You can read an indepth account of a visit to the Petronas towers here. Or read about our 2007 visit here.
The tallest twin towers in the world – the Petronas Towers - are located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and rise a staggering 452 metres into the sky. The towers dominate the city skyline and are designed to represent unity, harmony, stability and rationality - the guiding principles of the Islamic faith.
The Petronas Towers opened for business in August 1999. The towers each have 88 storeys and are interconnected by a sky bridge at levels 41 and 42. The skybridge is open to the public and is 170 metres above ground level. The sky bridge alone weighs some 750 tonnes !

The towers contain a total of 76 lifts and 20 escalators. The towers are cladded with some 65,000 square metres of steel and 77,000 square metres of glass.
The Petronas Towers complex is popular with photographers – both as a subject and as a platform from which to photograph the city and hills below. If you are visiting Kuala Lumpur, try to take time out to visit the Petronas Towers and check out the view from up above.
