Indonesia is the biggest archipelago in the world. There are more than 17,000 islands, big and small, spread from the west to the east, connecting Pacific and Atlantic Ocean, bridging Asian and Australian continent.
As an archipelagic nation, Indonesia has plenty of marine-related attractions and activities, such as cruise ship tourism, yacht racing tourism, diving resort, surfing spots, and small hide-away resort islands.

Given the richness of the island, Cinta Bahari Indonesia Foundation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia is staging another SAIL INDONESIA, named SAIL INDONESIA 2006, involving many international participants with their well-built yachts, sailing from Darwin to Kupang as Indonesia's first marine entry-point from Australia.
This event will trace the path called the Indonesian Passage, bridging Asia and Australia.
Many Indonesian governmental institutions including the immigration ministry have worked together to make this event a great success.
Participation also flows from the local government and the community with their welcome dances and traditional celebrations and festivities. The organizer has said that this event would be something worth remembering.
